1910 H.P. Christensen House Designed by Architect Emil Schacht
A Home for the Ages – Willamette Heights
The architectural pedigree, the history, and the recently added steel and concrete structural reinforcement make this a home for the ages. Commissioned by Hans and Marcy Christensen, Schacht designed this one-of-a-kind Colonial Craftsman.
There is generous use of clear grain fir in wainscoting, box beams, trim, built-ins and woodwork throughout- all with a honeyed-golden patina. Sleeping porches, decks, front porch and a carriage house that leads into the big, ready-to-be- finished full basement round out the usable and accessible home.
The backyard offers the newly constructed landscape pavilion. Here the kids can shoot hoops and practice their break dancing.
And of course, Forest Park trail heads leading to 5500 acres of natural wilderness is a block away.
